Seattle Microsoft UC User Group (SMUCUG) Meeting – 5/19

For those local UC folks, a quick note about the local UC users group. We have had a few names over the years… Pacific NW Exchange User Group, UC Doers, and now we have adopted a more uniform name Seattle Microsoft UC Users Group (SMUCUG). I have been involved in the organization of the group for around five years now and am happy to say that the momentum is increasing. We have some strong leaders with me (Chris Norman from Microsoft) has been key
to the success. We are continuing to get top level speakers from the product teams, peer case studies, and have been doing a lot more sharing and collaboration on common problems that we all have.

May 19th is the next user group meeting, we’re holding the meeting downtown at the MSFT Westlake location and will kick things off between 4:30 and 5pm. Our topic this Lync deployments. We will have Heidi Gloudemans of NexusIS present on Lync Best Practices and Mike Dory of Boeing present on their Lync implementation. There will be time to network, to meet
other UC (Exchange/Lync/SharePoint/Office265) admins, and to talk shop (technical or non-technical).

We have a small online presence that we are working on growing. Right now the easiest place to collaborate with other group members online is in the LinkedIn group – http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=3850138. We are trying to keep the membership here Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska) folks for obvious reasons.
