I think that if employers change what they are asking for in a bigger way, we can move away from resumes and into better communication exchanges. Maybe it will be video... but I know I don't want to have to get on video to tell someone I want to work at their firm. I think the mode of communication does matter...

The resume has done its job of letting an employer know of a persons basic skills and given them a ruler to measure othesr by. However, it never has really told the whole story of a prospect of given the full picture. This problem has led to a lot of video resume start ups such as gethired.com etc. I don't know if that's the solution either... but it is sure better than a piece of paper

I enjoyed reading this although I think that both this piece and the attached infographic are pretty limited in application to white collar knowledge based employment.

It seemed to me that Marx was specifically most concerned with the class of society which is least likely to benefit or be positively impacted by the changes to "employee-ism" which you discuss.

I find it hard to imagine the janitor, waiter, or factory worker seeing the workplaces as being that fundamentally different than the one which Marx viewed and railed against.

Yeah - we'll see what happens with PT after this thing heals. It seems the healthcare insurance makes it too easy to waste the patient's money...

I have been similarly unimpressed with the healthcare at almost every turn. And when I go to PT, they seem to totally be after billable procedures - not patient care. (three different treatments on top of the basic office visit so they can add on the bill).
