About Josh
Josh Maher focuses on building strong teams, relationships, products, and offerings. He is the founder of TechCafe (Http://www.techcafe.co), a tech community that he has built around the premise that there are a lot of brilliant technologists and business people in the community and magical thing happen when they are introduced in the right scenario. Of course this has led to a couple of startups of his own that never went anywhere.
He is an expert in the Unified Communications space (email, im, voip, mobility, collaboration, etc.) with a couple of published books under his belt. He has been an analyst, speaker, trainer, author, and run a consulting practice all relating to unified communications.
He also has plenty of experience launching products – Washington Mutual Bank’s v1 mobile banking platform, several releases of the online banking platform at WaMu, several revs of EMC Symmetrix hardware and software, and a variety of freelance engagements where he designed, built, and launched products for other companies.
He spends a fair amount of time investing in real estate, companies, and trading. Starting in 2005 and successfully navigating the markets since then, he is always looking for new opportunities.
Currently, he is exploring how the cloud will improve the business value of UC in the enterprise. He still runs a UC related user group and blog at http://smucug.com. He is open for speaking and consulting engagements for the right customers and events and is always interested in meeting new people.
