Stocktoberfest 2014

I’m going back to the conference put on by Howard and the great team at Stocktwits down in San Diego. This is the third year of Stocktoberfest and my second year at the conference. I had never been to Coronado Island before attending the conference last year and fell in love with the place (then again my wife accompanied me down there without the kids so maybe I was really just falling in love with her all over again).

This year, I’m going down without her. The friendships that I made last year are long lasting. I learned an incredible amount of information about companies, about investing, and about how to think about the interaction of the two. I finally had the chance to meet some fairly influential people in the financial industry and it looks like this year the folks attending are just as great.

The speakers are amazing and include folks like Jack Schwager, Bill Gurtin, Joshua Brown, Shawn Carpenter, Tom Brakke, Adam Nash, Hardeep Walia, Michael Parekh, Herb Greenberg, Todd Sullivan, Semil Shah, JC Parets, Ron Suber, Phil Pearlman, Robert Peck, Nicole Sherrod, and way too many more to mention. The lineup is impressive and definitely the who’s who list of modern financial media.

For those that are interested in meeting up, I’ll be at all the dinners, happy hours, and conference days. I will also be out for a run all three days that I’m there. Howard and I are going to try and get out for a run Sunday around 11AM or so.
